Artiano Studios is Becoming… Full Circle Memoirs

Happy New Year to all those who have been following my work at Artiano Studios! As you can see, big changes are coming.

I started Artiano Studios, in part, because I have always loved helping others to share their stories. I have been blessed my whole life by the way that people have opened up to me about what matters most to them. This is part of what drew me to community building in online education. My work on the Ancient Greek Hero, the MOOC developed by Gregory Nagy for HarvardX, was a dream come true. But after working in online learning communities (and Massive Open Online Courses in particular) for several years, I was yearning to connect with smaller groups of learners in a face-to-face setting.

So in 2018 I developed a new curriculum for guided memoir groups of about 5-10 participants. I imagined these would supplement the personal history services I was already providing. Although I was excited about this opportunity, I was not prepared for how much it would change my thinking about the future. Simply put, these groups were one of the most exciting education/community building experiences of my life.

A great deal of that success is due to the fact that each participant committed to principles of mutual sharing, mutual respect, and full confidentiality. These seeds nurtured the trust necessary for deep sharing and true creativity. That environment allowed something beautiful to bloom each and every time we met. I left each session energized and full of joy.

In response to the positive feedback about this new curriculum, I am eager to devote more professional time and resources to developing and facilitating workshops and small group experiences for those looking to explore memoir writing. Although I’m personally attached to the Artiano Studios brand, I don’t feel it reflects this new focus on small group writing circles. So over the next few months I will be transitioning my work from Artiano Studios to Full Circle Memoirs.

Under Full Circle Memoirs I will provide a full range of life story services including Legacy Books, Legacy Videos & more.
