Turning Points Part 1: Guided Memoir Workshops for Family Members of those with Substance Use Disorder

$75.00

For family members of those with Substance Use Disorder

Make new friends and nurture your creativity as you take control of your life narrative, two pages at a time, in this small-group workshop!

You are invited to join a small group of 6-7 participants as we support and encourage each other through a powerful reading and writing program, designed specifically for family members of those with substance use disorder. This curriculum will guide you through the process of expressing and sharing your experiences in a confidential environment with others who are on similar journeys.

Each week we will explore our life story using a flexible theme:

• Turning Points
• Home & Family
• Warning Signs
• Disconnection & Loss
• Awareness & Acceptance

Each session is two hours. During the first hour we will jumpstart our thinking with poems, excerpts from memoirs, and fun exercises—all aligned with that week’s theme. During the second hour we will share two pages of our own writing, offered as works-in-progress, and receive supportive feedback.

This group is geared toward brand new writers. Our focus is on writing and sharing as creative outlets for self-discovery. You will never be graded or critiqued.

*****
Complete your narrative journey by registering for Part 2, which will guide participants through the second half of the curriculum featuring the following weekly themes:

• Turning Point into Darkness
• Signs of Hope
• New Connections & Truths
• Relapse & Recovery
• Homecoming: Returning to Light and Life
